In recent years, the markets for handmade chocolate, premium baking and dessert creative products have developed steadily. Consumers have raised higher requirements on the fineness, texture and consistency of chocolate designs. High-end products such as carved chocolate, three-dimensional chocolate, IP cartoon chocolate and relief chocolate see steadily growing demand. Private baking studios, dessert workshops and chocolate factories are launching differentiated shapes. As the core carrier of chocolate molding, the mold material's food-grade safety, detail reproduction accuracy and durability directly determine finished quality and production cost. Food-grade chocolate molding liquid silicone enjoys broad application prospects.

Chocolate sets extremely high safety requirements on mold materials. Molds that directly contact food must be non-toxic, odorless and free of harmful substance release. This food-grade chocolate molding silicone adopts platinum addition-cured system. During curing, it releases no small molecule by-products. It is non-toxic and odorless, passing food-contact related tests and meeting FDA and REACH standards. It can directly contact melted chocolate and dessert raw materials, meeting compliance requirements of overseas export baking products, solving the core pain point that ordinary industrial silicone cannot contact food.
Prototypes of carved and three-dimensional chocolate often contain fine carvings, complex surfaces and relief textures, which set high standards for detail reproduction of mold materials. This food-grade silicone has low viscosity and excellent self-leveling performance. After mixing and defoaming, it can fully flow into fine carvings, curved surfaces and relief patterns, precisely restoring chocolate prototype designs. Finished chocolates have clear lines and complete patterns without missing patterns or bubble defects, presenting the designer's creativity to the maximum and giving handmade chocolate high-end customized texture.
In terms of physical performance, this silicone has good elasticity and high tear resistance after curing. Three-dimensional undercut and thin lace shapes release easily without tearing, whitening or permanent deformation. The mold can be reused for many molding cycles with long service life. Meanwhile, the product has shrinkage below 0.1%. After repeated molding, dimension remains stable and chocolate shapes are consistent, without deformation or size deviation, ensuring stable quality for batch production. The product resists chocolate oil and cocoa butter, does not easily absorb oil and swell, withstands chocolate pouring temperature, and resists aging under cold-hot alternation, fitting continuous production rhythm of chocolate factories.
This liquid silicone supports two mainstream molding methods: pouring and split-mold wrapping. Chocolate pieces with simple structures can be cast directly with frame. Complex relief and undercut shapes adopt split-mold wrapping, with parting lines and exhaust grooves planned to avoid air entrapment. The product supports room temperature curing and can also be accelerated at 60–80℃ for fast vulcanization. It suits the rhythm of frequent new product launch and style change in dessert studios. The transparent grade allows direct observation of internal bubble discharge state, facilitating defect inspection and improving yield.

Industry trends show the baking creative industry is moving toward personalized customization and flexible production. Orders for custom wedding candies, holiday limited-edition chocolates and IP collaboration desserts keep rising, featuring small batches, multiple styles and fast updates. Traditional hard molds have long mold opening cycles and high modification costs, which are difficult to adapt to fast iteration. Liquid silicone features short mold opening cycle. After the prototype is modified, the mold can be remade quickly, perfectly matching the fast new product launch and custom order receiving trend in the handmade chocolate industry. Material suppliers keep optimizing formulas, launching food-grade silicone grades with different hardness and transparency, and improving food-grade test reports to meet domestic and overseas baking export compliance requirements.
