The customer is a large consumer electronics housing OEM in Baoan, Shenzhen, producing plastic shells for global laptop and tablet brands. Their workshop runs more than 40 pad printing machines on two shifts around the clock, with each shift printing over 100,000 pieces. They had been using an imported Pad Printing Silicone with high unit price and slow technical support, and wanted a cost effective alternative without compromising print quality.

Core Problems Before Switch
Three issues held back efficiency. First, pad heads cracked along edges after two to three days of high frequency pressing, forcing frequent changes that ate production time. Second, slight hardness variation between imported batches made imprint pressure inconsistent, causing around 3 percent of logos to look blurred. Third, imported lead time took one to two weeks, so emergency restocks had to ship by air at high cost.
Hongyejie Solution
On site evaluation led to the recommendation of HY-912 high tear pad printing silicone. Tear strength of 25 kN/m and tensile strength of 4.0 MPa are tuned for high volume production. Because the workshop stays above 32 C in summer, the technical advisor adjusted catalyst ratio from 100:2.5 to 100:2 to keep pot life comfortable while curing on schedule.
Measured Results
After two weeks of trial on ten machines, HY-912 pad heads lasted on average 3.5 days versus the previous 2.5 days, cutting head change frequency by 30 percent. Logo edges looked visibly sharper, and the blurred print defect rate dropped from 3 percent to 1.2 percent. Since Hongyejie ships from ready stock in Shenzhen, next day delivery eliminated air freight surcharges. Material plus downtime savings combined to about 18 percent lower overall pad printing cost.
Ongoing Partnership
All 40 plus machines now run on HY-912 with steady monthly volume around 800 kg. Hongyejie technical staff visits each quarter to review usage and tune formulas for new substrate materials. Both sides are also evaluating HY-933 addition cure platinum grade for a new high precision medical housing line.
