As electronic devices become increasingly compact and are deployed in harsher environments, the demand for reliable potting materials has grown significantly. The HY-9 Series addresses this need with a two-component addition-cure silicone gel that combines ultra-low viscosity, self-adhesive bonding and excellent electrical insulation in one solution.
The HY-9 Series includes three models to cover different application requirements. HY-9300 features zero hardness with self-adhesive properties, making it ideal for transparent potting applications where reworkability is important. HY-9400 offers an even softer gel consistency for deep-layer potting that requires maximum flexibility. HY-9405 provides a slightly firmer gel at 5 Shore A, suitable for general-purpose electronic encapsulation.
All models in the HY-9 Series share several key characteristics. They cure at room temperature or can be accelerated with heat, offering flexibility for different production workflows. The 1:1 mixing ratio by weight simplifies operation and reduces the risk of measurement errors. Once cured, the gel provides dielectric strength of no less than 25 kV/mm and volume resistivity of no less than 1.0 x 10 to the power of 16 ohm-cm, ensuring robust protection for sensitive electronics.
The self-adhesive property is a standout feature of the HY-9 Series. Unlike conventional potting compounds that require primers or surface treatments, this silicone gel bonds directly to PC, PP, ABS, PVC and common metal surfaces. This eliminates an entire processing step, reducing both production time and material costs.
Waterproof performance is another critical advantage. The cured gel forms a seamless barrier that prevents moisture ingress, making it particularly suitable for outdoor LED displays, marine electronics and automotive modules exposed to humid or wet conditions. Combined with its operating temperature range of -50°C to 200°C and UL94 V-1 flame retardancy, the HY-9 Series provides comprehensive protection across diverse environments.
Custom formulation services are also available for the HY-9 Series. Hardness, viscosity, operating time, curing speed and color can all be adjusted to meet specific application requirements.
