Many small and medium factories in the pad printing industry face a similar challenge. High end silicone products deliver strong performance but at a higher cost, while budget options often lack consistency. Hongye Silicone developed HY-901 economic Pad Printing Silicone to bridge this gap.

The research team defined a clear goal during formula development. They needed stable core performance with controlled costs through optimized material ratios and production methods. After extensive testing, the team selected a formula based on cost effective base polymers with appropriate reinforcing fillers and functional additives. This ensures basic mechanical properties of pad heads while avoiding expensive specialty materials, achieving the economic grade target.
HY-901 uses a condensation cure system with organotin catalyst for room temperature crosslinking. This system offers several benefits over platinum catalyzed addition cure. First, organotin catalyst costs much less than platinum, a key factor in the economic positioning. Second, condensation cure silicone has lower environmental requirements and operates well in ordinary workshops without strict humidity and temperature control. Third, cure speed is adjustable by varying catalyst from 100:2 to 100:3, allowing flexible control of operation time and cure speed for different production rhythms.
The 30±2 Shore A hardness is the most common medium hardness for pad printing heads. It provides good conformity on flat and slightly curved surfaces with even ink pickup and clear transfer. Too high hardness causes incomplete transfer on curves, while too low hardness blurs fine text. Thirty degrees balances both needs.
Viscosity at 32000±2000 mPa.s gives good flow during mold pouring, allowing natural leveling and cavity filling while reducing bubbles. The viscosity is not so low that filler settling causes uneven performance.
Tensile strength of 3.8 MPa and tear strength of 22±2 kN/m determine pad head service life. HY-901 achieves these levels in the economic range, meeting daily production needs with durable heads that resist breaking. The 380 percent elongation ensures rebound, allowing quick recovery after each print for consistent continuous operation.
In toy production, HY-901 pad heads stably transfer colorful patterns. The white color helps operators observe ink pickup and make timely adjustments. In electronic housing production, smooth pad head surfaces transfer small logos and model labels for routine marking needs.
Customers using HY-901 report significant cost reduction in pad head production while maintaining print quality. For factories with moderate monthly usage, the value advantage is clear.
Hongye Silicone provides complete technical support including pad making guidance, printing parameter adjustment, and troubleshooting. The team recommends suitable models and parameters based on specific printing needs.
