Product Overview
Foamed Silicone rubber (also called foaming silicone, liquid foamed silicone, Foam Silicone or Silicone Sponge) is an addition-curing, platinum-catalyzed two-component silicone rubber designed for controlled chemical foaming. When Part A and Part B - both free-flowing liquids - are mixed, the material foams chemically and cures into a soft, ultra-lightweight, eco-friendly cellular material that can be produced in virtually any thickness. Because foaming and curing happen in the liquid state, the finished foam follows the shape of any mold or cavity, which makes it one of the simplest ways to produce lightweight silicone parts with consistent density and hand feel.
Key Applications
EV and automotive: battery cell cushioning, thermal management padding, electronic control unit sealing, headrests, gear-knob covers and seat cushions.
Sealing: seals, gaskets, weather strips, foam boards, Silicone Foam tubes and copier/printer roller sponge.
Comfort and protection: insoles, sofa and mattress cushions, chest and shoulder pads, pregnancy back supports, children's pillows, sports helmets and protective gear.
Robotics and crafts: filling for silicone robots and silicone dolls, plus general soft-part prototyping.
Features and Benefits
High and tunable expansion: foams to 2x its own volume, up to 7x - adjust density to suit your part.
Uniform, stable foaming with low linear shrinkage and reliable compression rebound: dimensionally stable parts, fewer rejects.
Lightweight with excellent hand feel; no migration or shrinkage after molding.
Safe and eco-friendly: non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-radioactive, chemically inert.
Wide service range: long-term flexibility from -65C to 200C.
Heat- and cold-resistant, electrically insulating and flame-retardant - suitable for demanding industrial and electronic applications.
Technical Specifications
Recommended mix ratio: A:B = 1:1
Mixing time: 2-3 minutes
Expansion ratio: 2x-7x volume (adjustable)
Foam structure: uniform micropores
Working temperature: -65C to 200C (long-term)
Packaging: Part A 250/25/200 kg drums; Part B 20/25/200 kg drums
Transport: non-dangerous goods
Storage: sealed, cool and dry place
How to Use
Stir Part A and Part B thoroughly before use to distribute any settled components.
Mix A and B at a 1:1 ratio and stir for 2-3 minutes until the compound is uniform.
Vacuum-degas the mixed material and use it quickly to avoid premature foaming or trapped air.
Important: do not expose the material to direct sunlight or high-temperature baking; keep it away from nitrogen, sulfur, phosphorus, tin, lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB, PBDE and water.
Certifications and Compliance
Our factory is ISO 9001, UL and CE certified. The material is non-toxic, non-corrosive and non-radioactive, and is shipped as non-dangerous goods, simplifying international logistics.
Customization
OEM production is available with pre-production samples. Hardness, density and packaging can be tailored to your specification, and samples are approved before mass production.
Production and Quality
Raw material inspection - weighing and mixing - foaming and curing - post-treatment - final inspection before shipment. Every batch is checked before delivery to ensure consistent foaming and stable performance.
FAQ
