Product Overview:

Hong Ye HY-9409 is a two-component addition-cure transparent low-tack jelly gel developed for skin-contact and medical-adjacent products including silicone bra pads, breast prostheses, nipple covers, swimwear inserts and surgical positioning pads. Curing to a crystal-clear, buttery soft mass with a penetration of 150 plus or minus 30 (0.1mm), HY-9409 reproduces the realistic skin feel and gentle rebound of premium imported gels while offering excellent elongation, tear resistance and anti-yellowing performance. It is manufactured from food-contact and skin-safe raw materials, meets RoHS and REACH requirements, and is compatible with both room temperature curing and heat-accelerated curing for mass production. As a low viscosity fast flow grade, this variant flows quickly into narrow gel channels and complex cavities without voids. It is specifically formulated for casting soft adhesive gel into bra pad and push-up insert molds, where decades of field experience have shown that the seal must remain soft, tacky and compliant through thousands of hours of thermal cycling, vibration and maintenance operations. Backed by Hong Ye's nearly 20 years of silicone manufacturing expertise and supplied to customers in over 60 countries, HY-9409 combines the performance of premium imported gels with the cost efficiency, short lead time and responsive technical support of a Chinese manufacturer. Whether you are sealing a single biosafety cabinet or outfitting a 100,000-square-meter semiconductor fab, HY-9409 delivers consistent batch-to-batch quality, comprehensive documentation and application engineering support from first sample through full production ramp.

Detailed Application Scenarios:

In intimate apparel manufacturing, HY-9409 has become the material of choice for premium push-up bra pads, bridal inserts and swimwear enhancers. The gel is cast into thermoformed TPU or silicone film shells, where it cures into a crystal-clear, buttery soft mass that moves naturally with the body. Its low surface tack means the finished pad feels dry to the touch and does not stick to fabric during sewing or packaging, while its high elongation and tear resistance withstand repeated stretching, washing and compression. Swimwear brands specifically choose HY-9409 for its proven resistance to chlorine, salt water and suntan oil accelerated aging tests.

Self-adhesive nipple covers, strapless gel petals and backless bra accessories produced with HY-9409 benefit from the gel's controlled low tack and excellent clarity. The products can be peeled off and reapplied many times without leaving residue on the skin, and they resist deformation when carried in a handbag or travel case. For manufacturers, the 1:1 mix ratio and fast heat cure support cycle times of 30 to 60 minutes, enabling thousands of pairs per shift on multi-cavity molds. The anti-yellowing formulation ensures that even after months in retail display and warehouse storage, the gel remains water-clear.

Application & Operating Instructions:

Step 1 Mold preparation: Use clean polyethylene, polypropylene or polished aluminum molds. Avoid natural latex, sulfur-cured rubber, soft PVC and certain uncoated metals that can inhibit cure. A light release agent is optional for complex shapes.

Step 2 Component B preparation: Gently stir component B before use. For the transparent grade, stir slowly to avoid introducing bubbles that affect clarity.

Step 3 Weighing and mixing: Weigh A and B at 1:1 by weight. Mix slowly for 2 to 3 minutes. For crystal-clear products, vacuum degas the mixture at -0.08 to -0.09 MPa for 2 to 3 minutes until bubbles collapse.

Step 4 Pouring: Pour slowly into the mold from a low height. Tap the mold gently on the workbench to release any surface bubbles. For bra pads and breast forms, fill the film shell or mold cavity to the desired volume.

Step 5 Curing: Room temperature cure in 4 to 6 hours at 25C. For mass production, heat-cure at 60 to 80C for 30 to 60 minutes. Do not exceed 100C.

Step 6 Demolding and finishing: Demold slowly from the edge to avoid tearing. Trim flash with scissors or a blade. Cured gel has low tack and a dry, buttery skin feel. Clean tools with isopropyl alcohol before gel fully cures.

Precautions:

Use polyethylene, nylon or nitrile gloves; never use natural rubber latex gloves. Avoid contact with sulfur-containing materials, amines, phosphorus compounds, tin-cured silicone and PVC, as these inhibit the platinum catalyst and prevent cure. Mix A and B at exactly 1:1 ratio by weight using a calibrated scale. Stir thoroughly for 3-5 minutes, scraping container walls and bottom. Do not exceed 100°C during heat curing. Ensure good ventilation during operation.

Storage:

Store sealed containers in a dry, ventilated area below 25°C, away from direct sunlight, sulfur-containing materials, amines, food and strong chemicals. Shelf life is 12 months from manufacture date. Reseal unused material immediately after dispensing. Refrigerated storage at 5-15°C can extend shelf life; allow material to return to room temperature before opening to prevent condensation.

FAQ:

Q: Does the gel require vacuum degassing before pouring?

A: For HEPA filter sealing, meter potting and most industrial applications, no vacuum degassing is needed. The gel is formulated to self-level and release air naturally. For crystal-clear bra pads and breast forms where optical clarity is critical, we recommend vacuum degassing at -0.08 to -0.09 MPa for 2 to 3 minutes after mixing.

Q: Can old gel in a filter tank or housing be topped up?

A: Yes. If the existing gel is still clean, soft and tacky, simply wipe the surface with a dry cloth and pour fresh gel on high. The fresh addition-cure gel bonds chemically to the clean cured gel. If the old gel has hardened, dried out, turned yellow or become contaminated, remove it completely, clean the channel, and refill.

Q: Is HY-9409 safe for direct skin contact and can you provide test reports?

A: HY-9409 is manufactured from food-contact and skin-safe raw materials meeting RoHS, REACH, FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and LFGB requirements. It is widely used in bra pads, breast forms, nipple covers and medical positioning pads. Third-party biocompatibility, cytotoxicity and skin sensitization test reports can be provided on request for medical device qualification.

Q: What is the mixing ratio and how accurate must it be?

A: All HY-94 series gels use a 1:1 mix ratio by weight. Accuracy should be within plus or minus 2 percent. Off-ratio mixing causes incomplete cure, soft spots or sticky surfaces. Always use a calibrated digital scale rather than estimating by eye or volume.

Q: How much gel do I need per HEPA filter or per product unit?

A: For a standard 610x610mm HEPA filter with a 15x25mm gel channel, approximately 200 to 350 grams of mixed gel is required per filter. A 20kg pail seals 60 to 100 filters. For bra pads, a typical push-up insert uses 30 to 80 grams per pair. We provide a free gel consumption calculator based on your channel dimensions or product drawings.
