In recent years, the markets for scented candles, relief shaped candles and creative wax plaques have expanded steadily. Consumers have raised higher requirements on the shape details, carving texture and consistency of candles. Whether for home aromatherapy, holiday gifts or souvenir markets, handmade candles with three-dimensional carvings, hearts and lace shapes have become popular items thanks to stronger aesthetics and experience. As the core carrier of candle molding, the mold material's detail reproduction accuracy, wax resistance and durability directly determine finished quality and production cost. Handmade candle mold silicone enjoys broad application prospects.

Prototypes of handmade scented candles usually contain relief patterns, hearts, lace, three-dimensional carvings and logos, which set high standards for detail reproduction of mold materials. Traditional mold materials tend to lose patterns, blur edges or damage relief details during demolding. Handmade candle mold silicone features moderate fluidity. After mixing and defoaming, it can fully penetrate relief patterns, three-dimensional carvings and lace textures, precisely restoring original shapes. Finished candles have clear and three-dimensional patterns without missing or broken patterns, presenting the design creativity to the maximum.
In terms of material performance, scented candle production involves long-term contact with paraffin, soy wax, beeswax, coconut wax and aromatic essential oils. Ordinary mold silicone tends to stick to wax, absorb oil and turn sticky after long-term contact. The surface swells and ages after absorbing essential oil, and mold molding cycles greatly decrease. This candle-specific mold silicone has good surface inertness and dry surface after curing. Paraffin, soy wax, beeswax and coconut wax do not easily stick to the mold. Aromatic essential oils and fragrances do not corrode silicone. The mold does not easily turn sticky or swell, effectively extending service life and reducing mold replacement frequency.
In terms of mechanical performance, relief candles mostly consist of hollow, deep relief and thin lace structures, so the elasticity and tear resistance of silicone are critical during demolding. This candle-specific silicone is flexible with high resilience after curing. Hollow and deep relief shapes can be released by folding, and thin edges do not easily tear. The mold can be reused many times. Its linear shrinkage rate is controlled below 0.1%. After curing, dimension remains stable. Mass-produced candles have uniform size and consistent patterns, ensuring stable quality for products in the same series.
This liquid silicone supports two mainstream molding methods: brush molding and pouring. Complex deep relief and three-dimensional candles give priority to brush molding. The first thin layer of silicone is brushed to fill relief patterns, and after surface drying, multiple coats are applied with fiberglass cloth reinforcement. Gypsum outer shell is made to support the mold. Candles with relatively simple shapes adopt pouring, slowly injecting from the high point of the master model and filling patterns by self-leveling to reduce bubbles. Room temperature curing requires no complex heating equipment. Whether for fast prototyping in candle studios or mass production in scented candle factories, it can be operated quickly.

Industry trends show the scented candle industry is moving toward personalized customization and flexible production. Orders for custom wedding candles, holiday limited-edition scented candles and IP collaboration shaped candles keep rising, featuring small batches, multiple styles and fast updates. Traditional hard molds have long mold opening cycles and high modification costs, which are difficult to adapt to fast iteration. Liquid silicone features short mold opening cycle. After the prototype is modified, the mold can be remade quickly, perfectly matching the fast new product launch and custom order receiving trend in the candle industry. Material suppliers keep optimizing formulas, launching candle mold silicone grades with different hardness and working time, and improving test reports to meet environmental compliance requirements for domestic and overseas scented candle exports.
