Liquid Mold Silicone Resists Tear Stretch And Heavy Impact Force
Product Description

Product Overview

Hong Ye HY-E630 is a 30 Shore A addition-curing Liquid silicone rubber engineered specifically for large-format and heavy-duty mold making applications. Built on a platinum-catalyzed hydrosilylation system, this industrial-grade silicone delivers an exceptional combination of structural rigidity, high tear resistance (≥24 kN/m), and near-zero shrinkage (≤0.1%) — making it the material of choice for large sculpture reproduction, GRC facade panels, theme park rockwork, concrete architectural elements, and high-volume production molds.

What distinguishes HY-E630 from softer grades is its optimized crosslink density. At 30 Shore A, the cured silicone offers enough firmness to maintain dimensional stability under the weight of heavy casting materials (concrete, GRC, filled resins) while retaining sufficient elasticity for clean demolding of undercuts and complex geometries. The translucent formulation allows visual bubble inspection during pouring, and the dual mix-ratio option (1:1 or 10:1 by weight) provides process flexibility for both large pour-in-place molds and fast-turnaround small-batch work.

Manufactured by Shenzhen Hong Ye Jie Technology Co., Ltd. — a silicone specialist with 25+ years of experience and exports to 138+ countries — HY-E630 is backed by full ISO 9001, FDA, REACH, RoHS, UL, and CE certifications, ensuring compliance with the most demanding international quality and safety standards.

Key Advantages

1. High Tear Strength for Demanding Production With a tear strength of ≥24 kN/m and tensile strength of ≥6.0 MPa, HY-E630 withstands the aggressive demolding forces encountered in large sculpture and concrete mold applications. Molds resist tearing at sharp edges, deep undercuts, and thin flange sections — delivering 800–1,200 casting cycles per mold in typical GRC and concrete production environments.

2. Near-Zero Shrinkage for Dimensional Precision The platinum addition-cure mechanism releases no volatile by-products, keeping cure shrinkage below 0.1%. A 1-meter master pattern yields a mold within 1 mm of the original dimension — eliminating the pattern scaling, test pours, and rework associated with condensation-cure silicones that shrink 0.3%–0.5%.

3. Structural Stability for Large Molds At 30 Shore A hardness, HY-E630 provides the rigidity needed to support large, heavy molds without sagging or deforming under their own weight. This is especially critical for vertical wall molds, large sculpture sections, and molds that must be stored or transported between production runs.

4. Alkali and Chemical Resistance HY-E630 is inherently inert to alkaline cement, GRC slurry, epoxy resin, polyurethane, gypsum, and wax. It does not react with, bond to, or degrade when exposed to these casting materials — ensuring consistent release performance and long service life even in high-volume cementitious casting operations.

5. Wide Temperature Tolerance Service temperature range of -60°C to +200°C covers cold-climate outdoor storage, heated curing ovens, and the exothermic heat generated by curing concrete and resin. The silicone retains elasticity and mechanical properties across this entire range.

6. Dual Mix Ratio for Process Flexibility

  • 1:1 ratio (Part A:B): 45–60 minute pot life — ideal for large molds, complex assemblies, and operations requiring time for careful pouring and vacuum degassing.
  • 10:1 ratio (Part A:B): Faster cure — suitable for small components, rapid prototyping, and quick-turnaround production runs.

7. Translucent for Quality Control The semi-transparent appearance allows operators to visually inspect for air bubbles, incomplete filling, and cure progression during production — reducing defect rates and minimizing scrap.

  • Theme Park & Entertainment — Artificial rockwork, waterfall features, themed environment props, and large-scale scenic elements
  • Concrete & Cement Products — Garden planters, furniture, fencing, faux stone veneer, and terrazzo tile molds
  • Artificial Stone & Faux Rock — Synthetic landscaping stone, interior wall cladding, aquarium decorations, and rock veneer production
  • Resin & Polyurethane Casting — Large-format resin art, architectural resin panels, and industrial prototype molds
  • Rapid Prototyping — Vacuum casting (Vacuum Casting) molds for low-volume production of large enclosures and structural components

Operating Instructions

  1. Prepare the Master Pattern — Ensure the pattern is clean, dry, and free of contaminants that may poison the platinum catalyst (sulfur, tin, amines, lead, latex). Apply a silicone-compatible release agent if necessary.
  2. Build the Mold Frame — Construct a containment box around the pattern, allowing 15–30 mm clearance for the silicone wall thickness. Seal all gaps with clay or hot melt adhesive.
  3. Weigh and Mix — Measure Part A and Part B according to the selected ratio (1:1 or 10:1). Stir thoroughly in one direction for 2–3 minutes, scraping the container sides and bottom to ensure complete mixing.
  4. Degas — Place the mixture in a vacuum chamber at -0.095 MPa for 2–3 minutes until all visible bubbles have collapsed. For large pours, degas in multiple smaller batches to avoid overflow.
  5. Pour — Pour the degassed silicone slowly from a low height into one corner of the frame, allowing it to flow across the pattern naturally. For deep undercuts, apply a brush coat first.
  6. Cure — Allow to cure at room temperature (20–25°C) for 4–6 hours, or accelerate at 60°C for 2 hours. For molds thicker than 30 mm, extend cure time to ensure complete through-cure.
  7. Demold and Post-Cure — Remove the frame and carefully peel the silicone from the pattern. Allow the mold to post-cure for 12–24 hours before production use to maximize mechanical properties.
