Electronic Products and Hardware Continuous Production
Electronic products and hardware industry includes phone cases, computer accessories, remote controls, buttons, connectors, metal housings, hardware parts etc. These products usually have hard flat or slightly curved surfaces with high printing precision requirements and large production batches.
Hongye HY-902 high wear pad printing silicone performs excellently in electronic products and hardware continuous production. The high hardness durable material maintains sharp clear patterns and stable consistent printing quality during long continuous production runs, reducing quality fluctuation caused by pad wear. Uniform ink pickup and transfer delivers complete pattern reproduction, ideal for high precision printing on hard flat and slightly curved surfaces. Long pad life reduces replacement frequency and downtime, improving production efficiency.
Operating Instructions
Step 1 Pad Mold Preparation: Thoroughly clean the pad mold, wipe with alcohol and apply mold release agent evenly, leave 5 to 10 minutes to dry. Place mold on a level stable surface.
Step 2 Component A Preparation: Stir component A base rubber thoroughly for 1 to 2 minutes before pouring to ensure uniform color and filler distribution, scrape bucket walls and bottom.
Step 3 Weighing and Mixing: Accurately weigh A and B at 100:2 ratio by weight using electronic scale, within ±5% tolerance. Mix thoroughly for 3 to 5 minutes, scraping container walls and bottom to ensure complete uniform mixing.
Step 4 Pouring and Degassing: Slowly pour mixed silicone from one side of the mold, let it flow naturally to fill. Fill to about 80 percent. Use vacuum at negative 0.09MPa for 2 to 3 minutes if available, or let sit 5 to 10 minutes for natural bubble release.
Step 5 Curing and Demolding: After degassing, cover the mold and cure at room temperature 25°C for 2 to 4 hours. For faster curing, heat at 60°C for 30 to 60 minutes, temperature not exceeding 100°C. Gently remove the pad, let rest 24 hours before use.
Step 6 Usage and Maintenance: Wipe pad surface with alcohol before use. Do several test prints first to condition the surface. Gently remove residual ink with clean nonwoven cloth or tape. Wrap with plastic film when not in use.

Use polyethylene, nylon or nitrile gloves, do not use natural latex gloves. Avoid contact with sulfur containing substances, amines, phosphorus compounds, tin cure silicone and PVC as these may inhibit cure. Use calibrated scale for accurate 100:2 weighing, mix thoroughly for 3 to 5 minutes. Heat curing temperature not exceeding 100°C. Maintain good ventilation. Component B has mild irritation, avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Seal containers immediately after use.
Storage
Store in sealed containers below 25°C in dry ventilated area, avoid direct sunlight, keep away from sulfur containing substances, amines, food and strong chemicals. Shelf life 12 months from production date. Seal immediately after taking material. Refrigeration at 5 to 15°C extends shelf life, warm to room temperature before opening to avoid condensation. Store components A and B separately.
FAQ
Q: How long does HY-902 high wear pad last? How much longer than other models?
A: HY-902 high wear pad service life depends on printing frequency, product material, ink type, cleaning method and maintenance. For regular mass production, it typically lasts 30000 to 80000 prints, 2 to 3 times longer than standard models. Proper cleaning and maintenance can further extend service life. For mass continuous production facilities, using HY-902 significantly reduces pad replacement frequency and lowers overall cost.
Q: HY-902 has high hardness, will it affect ink pickup and pattern clarity?
A: HY-902 at 28 Shore A is the hardest among four models but still within reasonable pad printing silicone hardness range, it does not affect ink pickup and pattern clarity. On the contrary, higher hardness pads deliver sharper pattern edges and higher printing precision, with better pattern stability during extended use. Only large curved surface products require lower hardness pads like HY-916. For flat and slightly curved products, HY-902 works perfectly with better wear resistance and longer life.
Q: How to choose between HY-902 and HY-912?
A: HY-902 is high wear long life model with 28A hardness, best abrasion and tear resistance, longest pad life, ideal for mass continuous production, high frequency pressing, facilities with high pad life requirements. HY-912 is multi color eco friendly general purpose model with 25A hardness, RoHS and REACH certified, multiple colors with stable batch quality, ideal for export companies. If products export requiring eco certification, choose HY-912. If domestic sales or no eco certification needed but high production volume, choose HY-902. Both suitable for flat and slightly curved products.
