HY-916 is a premium super soft Pad Printing Silicone engineered by Shenzhen Hongyejie Technology Co., Ltd., specifically designed to solve the technical challenge of printing on irregular curved surfaces. With a hardness of only 16 Shore A and elongation exceeding 400%, this product delivers exceptional conformability to products with large curvatures and obvious concave convex surfaces, achieving print quality that normal hardness pad heads cannot match.

The formula development represents a significant technical breakthrough. Traditional super soft formulas suffer from poor physical strength and short service life, but HY-916 achieves an optimal balance between softness and durability through optimized molecular chain structure, nano reinforcing fillers and precise crosslink density control. The result is a pad head material that is both extremely soft and reliably durable, with tensile strength ≥2.5MPa and tear strength ≥10kN/m.
HY-916 operates on a simple 100:2 mixing ratio with 30-40 minutes working time and 2-4 hours room temperature curing, providing an efficient production workflow. HY-916 is widely used for logo and pattern printing on mobile phone cases, remote controls, computer mice, keyboards, chargers, power banks and Bluetooth earphone cases. Electronic housings typically have irregular shapes with curved surfaces and concave convex button areas where normal hardness pad heads cannot fully conform, causing incomplete prints and blurred edges. HY-916 pad heads with elongation ≥400% perfectly conform to these complex surfaces, ensuring complete and sharp logo printing with uniform ink transfer, meeting the high appearance quality standards of the electronics industry.
Cosmetic Packaging Printing

Application and Operation Instructions
Step 1: Preparation
Prepare HY-916 Part A and Part B, digital scale (0.1g precision), stirring rod, vacuum degassing chamber, pad head mold, release agent, nitrile gloves. Clean mold thoroughly, apply thin release agent layer, dry 10 minutes.
Step 2: Weighing
Stir Part A and Part B separately. Weigh accurately at 100:2 ratio (e.g. 100g Part A + 2g Part B). Use precision scale, ratio error within ±0.1g.
Step 3: Stirring
Stir thoroughly for 3-5 minutes, scraping bottom and side walls to ensure uniform mixing. Stir gently to avoid excessive bubbles. Mixed silicone should have uniform color without streaks.
Step 4: Vacuum Degassing
Degas at -0.09MPa for 5-8 minutes until no more bubbles rise. Critical step for pad head quality, insufficient degassing causes pores and printing defects.
Step 5: Mold Pouring
Pour slowly along mold side wall, let silicone flow naturally. Fill slightly above mold level to compensate for curing shrinkage.
Step 6: Curing and Demolding
Cure at room temperature 25°C for 2-4 hours. Confirm full curing by finger press test. Demold carefully from edge. Rest 24 hours before use for optimal performance.

FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between HY-916 super soft and normal hardness pad silicone?
A1: HY-916 has 16 Shore A hardness, 7 degrees softer than conventional 23A grade, with elongation ≥400% and much larger deformation capability. It perfectly conforms to large curvature and concave convex irregular surfaces where normal pad heads cannot achieve complete printing. For flat or slightly curved surfaces, normal hardness grades like HY-901 are sufficient and more cost effective.
Q2: Do super soft pad heads have shorter service life?
A2: While super soft pads may wear slightly faster than high hardness ones, HY-916 maintains excellent physical properties with tensile strength ≥2.5MPa and tear strength ≥10kN/m, achieving 50,000 to 80,000 prints under normal conditions. For curved surface printing applications where normal pads simply cannot print well, HY-916 delivers significantly higher yield and lower overall cost despite slightly shorter pad life.
Q3: Why are there bubbles or pores in my finished pad heads?
A3: Bubbles and pores are most commonly caused by insufficient vacuum degassing. Ensure vacuum reaches -0.09MPa and degas for at least 5 minutes until no more bubbles rise to the surface. Also pour silicone slowly along the mold side wall rather than from directly above to avoid introducing new bubbles. A vacuum degassing chamber is essential equipment for producing quality pad heads.
