Pour or brush the silicone over your prepared master pattern, allow to cure for 4-5 hours, and you have a production-ready mold that will deliver hundreds of high-quality casts.

Compatible Casting Materials Model HY-E620 is compatible with a wide range of casting materials including gypsum/plaster, cement and GRC mixtures, polyurethane foam, epoxy resin, polyester resin, wax, concrete, and low-melt alloys. Operating Guide

Step 1 — Pattern Preparation Thoroughly clean your master pattern. For porous originals (wood, plaster, foam), apply 2-3 coats of shellac or PVA sealer, sanding lightly between coats. For non-porous patterns (metal, glass, sealed resin), apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or specialized release agent. Ensure the pattern is completely dry before proceeding.

Step 2 — Mold Box Construction Build a rigid containment box using acrylic board, melamine-faced MDF, or foam board. Leave 3-5cm clearance on all sides and 2-3cm above the highest point of the pattern. Seal all joints with hot glue or silicone sealant to prevent leaks. For large flat molds, ensure the box is perfectly level.

Step 3 — Weighing & Mixing Using a digital scale, weigh Part A (silicone base) and Part B (platinum catalyst) according to your chosen ratio (1:1 or 10:1 by weight). Accuracy within ±2% is essential for reliable curing. Pour Part B into Part A slowly. Stir gently but thoroughly in ONE direction for 3-5 minutes, scraping the sides and bottom of the mixing container. Avoid whipping air into the mixture.

Step 4 — Vacuum Degassing Place the mixing container in a vacuum chamber. Pull vacuum to -0.095 MPa. The mixture will rise as air bubbles expand and escape. Hold vacuum for 2-3 minutes until bubbling stops. Release vacuum slowly. This step is critical for bubble-free molds, especially for transparent and detail-critical applications.

Step 5 — Pouring Pour the degassed silicone in a thin, steady stream from the lowest point of your pattern. Allow the silicone to flow naturally upward and across the surface. For large molds, consider pouring in a spiral pattern from center outward. Avoid pouring from excessive height to prevent air entrapment.

Step 6 — Curing Allow the silicone to cure at room temperature (25°C) for 4-5 hours. For faster turnaround, cure at 60°C for 2 hours in an oven or with a heat gun. Do not attempt to demold before full cure — incomplete cure will result in a weak, tacky mold that will not perform properly.

Step 7 — Demolding & Inspection Once fully cured, carefully separate the mold from the pattern. Start by gently peeling edges, then gradually work around the entire mold. Inspect the mold surface for bubbles, incomplete coverage, or defects. A well-made mold should have a smooth, glossy surface with perfect detail reproduction.

Step 8 — Post-Cure & First Use For maximum mold durability, allow the finished mold to rest for 12-24 hours before first production use. Before the first cast, lightly dust the mold surface with talc or apply a light mold release to optimize release properties.
